How to Make an Accounting Flowchart in Apple Pages
From purchasing statements to manufacturing expenses, an accounting flowchart is a valuable management diagram. After all, as pointed out by Chron (a business-based publication), a flowchart is highly effective due to its simple yet efficient visuals. With its intuitive format, any accounting workflow is handled with minimal difficulty!
Your accounting flowchart’s creation involves using several special symbols—each one represents its own part in the diagram. If you’d like to know more, then feel free and read our manual of tips below!
1. Implement an Appropriate Layout for the Accounting Flowchart
Apple Pages has some settings that allow for a more intuitive diagram assembly. These settings are found within the side toolbar (on the right side).
Open the Document menu and turn off the Document Body option. Afterward, allow switching to a layout document, and your page is all set for making a flowchart!
2. Name Your Accounting Flowchart with a Specific Title
With the help of a text box, give your flowchart document an informative title. Add a text box using the Text option in the upper toolbar.
After clicking the Text icon, place the fresh text box at the top of your document’s page. Next, input a title that describes your chart’s contents—like something similar to “Manual Payment Workflow” or “Accounting Cycle Flowchart.”
3. Create The Accounting Flowchart’s Symbols with the Shape Feature
In making your accounting flowchart work, there’s a handful of symbols to keep in mind. And when creating said symbols, accessing Pages’ Shape menu (in the upper toolbar) is required.
For your finance diagram’s start (and end), use ovals. Rectangles are for different tasks and actions. Meanwhile, both inputs and outputs are represented by parallelograms. Finally, if your flowchart contains any decisions that split into different paths, insert the diamond shape.
4. Direct the Accounting Process’s Flow with Connecting Lines
Lines are also important symbols in a flowchart, showing how one step proceeds into the next. Add lines by using the Insert menu.
First, select two adjacent shapes with CMD+click, followed by going to Insert > Line. Then, pick either the Curve or Elbow Connection Line to link your selected shapes with a self-adjusting line.
And so, by keeping our handy tips in mind, managing your accounting procedures is much easier with well-made charts. Also, consider using one of our Accounting Flowchart Templates to speed up your diagram creation!
