How to Design a Plan Mind Map in Google Slides
According to George Patton, good plans today are far better than perfect plans in the future. If you wish to create a mind map in Google Slides to visually represent your plan, then take a look at our list of useful guidelines below.
1. Determine the Purpose of the Mind Map
We’re already aware that you’re creating a mind map, but what is its purpose? Another question is, what is the plan all about? These are simple questions that often get overlooked when creating mind maps. However, your answers to these will give you the inspiration you need for the map’s content and aesthetics.
2. Start with a Draft of the Plan
First drafts are always helpful when writing something that involves various ideas. This will help you organize and create a streamlined flow of your thoughts. If it helps further, you may even create a hand-drawn sketch of the mind map based on the draft of your plan.
3. Identify the Central Idea of the Plan
The reason why it’s called a central idea is that it’s placed in the middle of the mind map. Another reason for its name is because all the other details rely on it. Before proceeding to the supporting ideas, make sure to identify the main one first. Typically, your design mind map’s central idea is the goal of your plan.
4. Create Branches for the Supporting Ideas
Now, you can start branching out from the main idea to create the supporting ones. If you need to further explain some supporting details, you may create branches for it as well. It’s normal for project mind maps to branch out multiple times, what’s important is that all ideas can be traced easily and in a linear fashion.
5. Highlight Certain Ideas or Elements
If there’s a need for you to emphasize certain elements in your development mind map, feel free to do so to bring the reader’s attention towards it. You can either make the text bigger or bolder for these elements, or you can also fill the text box with a distinguishable color.
