A business analyst (BA) is a person who analyzes a company or business domain (real or hypothetical) and records its business, processes, or systems, examines the business model, or integrates it with technology. Through data analysis, business analyst helps form a career path for companies to develop processes, products, services, and applications.Â
The background of a business analyst can also be represented as a bridge between the problems of business and the solutions of technology. Business concerns may be anything about company processes, such as the model, procedure, or method, here. Usage of technology design, tools, or software systems may be technology solutions for a project. With the help of technology, system analysts are required to analyze, transform, and eventually solve business problems. Often, the business analyst’s role is to be part of the business operation and work with IT to improve the efficiency of the services provided, sometimes helping to implement and evaluate new ideas. Analysts serve as a link between technical developers and management. The BA may also support the development of training material, participates in the implementation, and provides post-implementation support. The BA records requirements in some form of a requirements management tool, whether a simple spreadsheet or a complex application.  Within the systems development life cycle, the business analyst typically performs a liaison function between the business side of an enterprise and the providers of IT services.
