What Is a Certificate of Achievement?
Merriam-Webster's Dictionary says that a certificate is a document certifying that one has fulfilled the requirement of and may practice in a field. A certificate of achievement is a recognition of progress or completion given out by a variety of institutions, including employers, primary schools, secondary schools, and institutions of higher learning. It indicates that the recipient completed a course or program. Sometimes certificates of achievement are called certificate of accomplishment or certificate of recognition but for the large part remain synonymous and contain the same things.
How to Create a Certificate of Achievement in Adobe InDesign
A certificate of achievement (otherwise known as an achievement certificate) is a special document given to an individual recognizing or certifying that they have achieved something significant within an even, organization, or institution. They are most commonly given by schools to a student for their academic success. To learn how to create your own certificate of achievement, just follow the given steps below.
1. Planning Your Certificate
One of the problems with creating a certificate is that most certificates look the same at first glance. Don't just pick any template or reference out. You need to keep a close eye on the template and find the difference between one certificate from the others. Be especially carefully with the certificate of completion template because it bears a strong resemblance to the certificate of achievement.
2. Choosing Your Template
With your certificate sorted out, the next thing you're going to have to do is picking out your template. Most templates already have content, but don't worry. The majority of them are customizable. There is a handful of templates available here; however, if you prefer to create one of your own, then you should follow the next step.
3. Create a Draft of the Certificate
You have an idea for your certificate but it would be wise to have a rough draft or a series of rough drafts prepared. Here you can prepare your layout. Utilize the space you have to decide where certain elements fall into place.
4. Customizing Your Chosen Template
Once you have your template picked out, you can begin customizing your template. The colors you put into your certificate has to align with the company or institution colors. Also include the company logo. If you're not satisfied with the plain background of the certificate, you can attach an image. You can adjust the transparency of the image if you want to emphasize the content of the certificate. As for the font, make sure you use at least three to four different fonts. Enlarge the certificate and the name of the recipient. You can also add a few flashy designs using vector shapes around the edges to add some life to the certificate.
5. Attaching the Citation and Proper Authorities
Next we add the content of the certificate. Include details such as the name of the receiver, the date they receive the certificate, the location where they receive it, their milestone or award, and the names of the people or person who recognizes the certificate. To make it valid, include the names of the proper authorities who acknowledge the achievements of the recipient.
6. Printing
Before you print out your certificate, proofread the content. Especially double-check the name of the receiver as it is important to them. When you finish, you can save the file and have the certificate printed out.
